About Us & Credentials

Biographies:

U. Karin Howland worked for a government agency in IT for over 25 years in software development. In 2003 she completed a certificate in Project Management from Red River College. She has been a small business owner since June 2004 and built a successful business offering services to individuals. Interests are diverse and include training dogs, landscaping, exercise and taking courses.

R. W. Mick Howland has seven years as a professional fundraiser working for an international non-profit conservation group, and another 12 years as a professional in financial industry specializing in marketing. Mick is certified in the Canadian Securities Course and in Conduct and Practices. 
If it's anything to do with marketing, Mick is the one who knows how to do it. Mick is also an active Toastmaster - comedy is his specialty. He was the 2006-2007 Toastmasters Public Relations Officer for Manitoba and N.W. Ontario.

When Mick is not in the office, one of his favorite pastimes is catfishing on the Red River. Here he is with a 28 lb Channel Cat. Mick is also the owner of Execu-Cat Charters, a channel cat fishing charter service.

Karin and Mick's combined skill sets complement each other, giving them a wide menu of services to offer clients. Attention to detail and a drive to produce excellence is their trademark.

Mick's background is broad with several decades in event planning and in marketing. It includes:

Seven years as a professional fundraiser for an international non-profit conservation group:

  • Organized 35 individual volunteer committee groups in their annual fund raising

  • Started fundraising committees in new locations

  • Designed and produced marketing materials for both individual groups and commonly used pieces

  • Trouble shooting

  • Oversaw more than 175 fundraising events

  • Liaison with business leaders and owners

12 years as a professional in marketing including:

  • Organizing over 500 events from small elegant dinners to informational events with large (250 to 400) audiences in attendance

  • Worked with print and radio media
